The King vs. Blake football game was a win for King but still came with some drastic losses. The game started off with King in the lead at the first quarter with 7-0. One problem was presented; a small altercation on the field between one of Blake’s players and another of Kings occurred. Luckily, it was broken up by a fellow player. Second quarter, Blake makes a play and the score becomes 7-7. Shortly after, King scores again, making the score 14-7.

Soon the game took a sharp turn; multiple players from King and Blake were on the field fighting. Even students from Blake jumped the fence to aid in what seemed like a large disaster. The altercation didn’t last long, thanks to our resource officers. However, this did cause an end to the game with only two quarters played.

Oddly,  no player seems to know how it all started. King blames Blake and vice versa for Blake.

“I don’t know what happened, we were playing then we were fighting. It all happened so fast and nothing was said,” one of Blake’s players that was on the field that day said.

The long term effect of the game hit all of King High School. Senior Night was cancelled for football players, cheerleaders and the band, much to all of their disappointment.
