As we enter the midst of fall, festivities come to a quick halt as soccer season
approaches. The girls soccer team won the title of being #1 in the district in the 2017-
2018 season. Baylee Dozark, who is coaching for the first time this season, expects
nothing less.

“I hope to win districts and make it to the state tournament. Obviously, I would love
to win it all! I also want to start building the soccer program here and grow the support
system for the soccer teams. Having fans and support is a big part of having a good
and successful program” Dozark said.

Dozark, who has been playing soccer since she was 5 years old, is known to be
well-driven and highly successful in her soccer career. Her whole family is heavily
involved in soccer, having both of her siblings, Karsyn and Konner, play to this day.

“I played club soccer at Florida soccer club growing up and high school soccer at
Wharton High School, then wanted to continue my soccer career so I went to Emory &
Henry college in Virginia to play. As my side job in college, I actually refereed high
school soccer. Every summer and time that I was home from college I trained
competitive teams at Florida Soccer club, organized and ran recreational soccer
camps and clinics, and coached with my dad, Brian Dozark, the king boys soccer
coach and club coach at Florida soccer club. I have officially been coaching a U-18
girls club soccer team with my Dad for about a year now,” Dozark said.

Waishy Harmon, who will play for the lions for the second time this year, is also
looking forward to an exceptional season.

“My goal is to be a leader on and off the field. Now that I’m moving on from
Freshman year I have more experience and I want to contribute to my team as much
as I can” Harmon says.

The girls had their first practice and meeting on Oct. 26. As this season unrolls,
students can’t wait to see the girls team have another successful season! Go Lions!

Congratulations to everyone who made the 2018-2019 girls soccer team!
